Luray, Virginia - PCi Tec and QI Path announced today a new three-year partnership that will help government agencies across the nation better identify the vulnerabilities associated with their high-risk activities and optimize their mission security. It will help organizations move from a reactive, response-based posture to a forward-looking, proactive stance toward risk, planning and program execution.
The new partnership combines QI Path’s unique, software-driven solutions, already applied in high-risk industries like health care and life sciences, with PCi Tec’s deep experience, understanding and ongoing engagement with the United States government. It aims to empower federal agencies to efficiently locate, characterize and reduce vulnerabilities on the front end of high-risk endeavors. This can help organizations avoid costs and future liabilities.
According to PCi Tec President & CEO Rosina Kling, “The benefits of PCi Tec and QI Path’s combined solutions include the ability to proactively spot weaknesses, drive out waste and improve safety and quality in high-risk federal programs, especially for cross-functional, geographically-distributed teams. These are mission-critical requirements for all Federal agencies.”
The partnership’s first award contract is already in place at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center, the largest hospital in the U.S. dedicated entirely to clinical research.
QI Path President Tom Leifer noted that his company has worked extensively with hospitals, health systems and clinical research organizations to improve clinical quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency. The broad applicability of QI Path’s methodology and tools enable the partnership to address new challenges in federal missions outside of healthcare as well. Initial focus areas of the partnership will expand to include disaster planning, emergency management and more general cybersecurity.
“The alliance gives us the ability to help agencies preemptively attack some of their most pressing challenges today,” Leifer says. “Our solutions are based on systems improvement techniques proven effective across high-risk industries like aviation, aerospace and nuclear power. We work in high-stakes situations,” Leifer says, “where organizations can’t afford to fail – and can’t afford to waste the time, money and resources reacting to problems that could have been prevented.”
QI Path’s deep experience in healthcare and life sciences positions the partnership extremely well to provide solutions across several federal agencies, including those within Health and Human Services (HHS), historically one of PCI Tec’s biggest customers. “A strategic goal of the partnership is to help government agencies drive more value from healthcare – to improve the quality of health outcomes while lowering the cost of provision,” said John Bruton, PCi Tec Vice President of Federal Sales.
